PQ control for test machine hydraulics with INSEVIS S7 panel PLC

For all those who are now thinking of power quality; no, this time it is not transients and harmonics that are distorting the sine wave, this is a different issue... Kämmer Antriebstechnik was tasked with implementing PQ control for a test machine hydraulic system using an S7 controller. In hydraulics, PQ control means a controller combination in which the setpoint of Q for the volume flow (usually liters per minute) and the setpoint of P for the pressure are specified via electrical signals on a proportional valve. This requires a small, compact S7 module with onboard I/Os. Since Siemens discontinued the C7 series a long time ago, INSEVIS was the first choice, because S7 programming is still carried out using the Siemens TIA Portal or Simatic Manager, so you remain in a familiar environment.
